Anoka County Fair, Anoka MN - Sat July 29 & Sun July 30, 2006

The action was as hot as the temperature as seventy-two entrants took the track on Saturday and fifty-three appeared on Sunday as Impact Motorsports Promotions took the reigns of the prestigious Anoka County demo derby for the first time.

Saturday’s afternoon show in the Mid-Size Mega stock class saw Calvin Rudnick come out with a close victory over Raymond Jackson. The action in the 1980 and newer full size stock class was non-stop as veteran MN legend Mark Steinhaus came out on top. At the night show the Old Iron class was dominated by the Chryslers as all top five spots were taken by Chrysler cars, with the Gorman brothers, Greg and Scott taking first and second. While, Dallas Anderson put on a great show coming in third.

On Sunday, Mark Steinhaus upheld his legendary status by winning the feature in the 1980 and newer full size stock class for the second straight day. Chris Pariseau outlasted Jeremy Oswald in a great battle in the Compact class. The Old Iron class was turned upside down as “Phenomenal” Fred Trapp drove to a victory in his General Motors station wagon, while Dave Groess claimed second place in his Chevrolet Sedan.
