Wabasha County Fair, Wabasha MN - Sat July 15, 2006

Seventy-three of the top demolition derby drivers in the Midwest took the track to see who would reign as the top driver in their class and battle it out for over $8000 in prize money.

The 4x4 trucks took the track first. This was an epic battle that found Jeremy Sommers coming out on top again. It was three against one at the end but Jeremy and his Dodge truck did not know the word “quit” and he outlasted the competition to claim another first place prize.

In the first ever 1980 and newer full size car class, Wisconsin veteran driver Norbie Ziegler survived in his Chevrolet to take the first place prize. Brian Roles established himself as one the top young guns by claiming a victory in the always tough Imperial class. In the full size old iron class, Kurt Brinkman’s Mopar crushed the competition and brought him a victory. Other classes included the mid-size car stock, compact weld and 2x4 trucks.
