2011 Mega Stock Rules

  • Refer to General Rules for non-building rules. This class is very stock and intended for the beginner.
  • No functioning 4X4 vehicles allowed. Front wheel drive only for Mid Size cars. All wheel drive must be disengaged. Rear wheel drive or front wheel drive allowed in Mighty Mini class (if originally a 4X4, then remove front or rear drive shaft).
  • Vehicle must be left completely factory stock, except as noted below.
  • No V8’s, unless factory equipped. Must remain same origin – Ford to Ford, Chevy to Chevy.
  • No welding, except safety bars and driver’s door.
  • Remove trailer hitches, glass, chrome, plastic, molding, A/C coolant, antifreeze and flammable material from inside and outside of the vehicle. Dash may be left in or may be removed.
  • Stock gas tank must be removed from original position. Tank must be covered and mounted securely in the rear seat area with eye bolts and ratchet straps. Due to fuel injection system, the original tank may be used. Use properly rated lines. Gas tank bar is optional.
  • Electronic fuel system allowed, if vehicle came from the factory with it, but an easy to reach switch must be mounted and clearly marked on/off.
  • Transmission shifter may be modified (floor shifters allowed) and ignition may be hot wired.
  • Hood must have a 12” x 12” minimum hole to easily extinguish engine fires.
  • Doors must be chained/wired shut in a max of 2 places per door. Chains/wire cannot go around the frame. Driver’s door may be welded for safety.
  • Hood, trunk and tailgate must be chained or wired shut in 4 places.
  • Battery must be relocated inside of the vehicle, secured and covered. One battery max.
  • Dash bar is optional, but seat bar is mandatory for driver’s safety. Bars may be connected to each other with door bars. Bars may not extend past the firewall and may not extend rearward beyond the front most part of the rear wheel well tubs. Bars may not tie into floor, rear frame humps, drive train or frame.
  • Factory original drive train must be used. Exhaust headers (stacks) though the hood are allowed.
  • Any tire or wheel can be used.
  • Stock bumpers may be replaced by “like era” bumpers, provided they are not welded to frame/body. No “old iron” bumpers. 60’s/70’s bumpers are not “like era” bumpers.  80’s caprice, crown vic, mustang bumpers, etc are acceptable choices. Due to the fact these will not bolt directly on in some cases, do not add more metal than necessary to make brackets bolt onto car. If they bolt directly on, do not weld.  Bumpers are to be bolted on to keep this class as stock as possible.
